J.G. Gaston & Associates, Inc. Actuarial Consulting Services for Business, Government, and the Individual

J. Gregory Gaston

Greg Gaston is the founder, president, and chief actuary of the firm.

Greg Gaston

Greg Gaston began his actuarial career with Johnson & Higgins in 1979, where he attained his enrollment under the Joint Board for Enrolled Actuaries and became a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Greg served as the Consulting Actuary to several national and international firms at Johnson & Higgins and helped author and test actuarial software for the firm.

Greg joined Coopers & Lybrand in 1986 where he served as a Consulting Actuary and helped develop forecasting and planning software in connection with the new accounting rules under Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 87.

It was during this period that Greg saw the need for an actuarial firm that understood and could focus on the needs of small and mid-sized employers, particularly those outside of major urban areas. These employers have special needs that are often not addressed by larger firms. His belief too was that these services could be provided to employers at a lower cost than that of the national firms. In 1987, Greg founded J.G. Gaston & Associates to serve these needs.

Greg became a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries in 1999. Through the Conference, Greg has formed working relationships with other actuaries across the country who provide review and assistance in the many growing areas of specialty actuarial services.
